Dr. Waseem Taraji
Dr. Waseem Matthew Taraji was born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq before he moved to Chicago, IL. He went on to complete his undergraduate degrees, a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Computer Science, at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Taraji graduated as Summa Cum Laude and was awarded a Certificate of Achievement from the Department of Biological Sciences. Dr. Taraji has completed multiple published research projects during both his undergraduate and graduate studies.
His passion to help patients and love for surgical work led him to enroll in dental school at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Dentistry, where he graduated in the top third of his class and received multiple scholarships and awards. Dr. Taraji has also completed a general practice residency in Hospital Dentistry at OSF St. Francis Medical Center (Peoria, IL), during which he received certification in Laser Dentistry and Cone Beam CT training. Dr. Taraji is also certified in Invisalign / clear correct treatment, Nitrous Oxide administration and 3D Dentistry.
Dr. Taraji is working on earning a Fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry. He also feels it is important to continuously expand his skills and knowledge and has participated in over 300 hours of continuing education. Dr. Taraji has come to Fort Wayne area with his wife Sarah, and is eager to use his experience to serve this community.
Outside of his work, Dr. Taraji enjoys playing soccer, video games, travelling, and taking part in competitive sports. He welcomes the opportunity to meet you and your family at our practice, and to provide you with exceptional care.

Dr. Waseem Taraji developed a love for dentistry after helping a family member at their dental office. He feels that dentistry is a special field of care that combines elements of medicine, engineering, and art. Like the rest of the Harrison Dental Group team, Dr. Taraji takes time to understand patients and help them feel comfortable.
